Discover Taqueria Las Brasitas

If you're in the mood for authentic Mexican flavors served with a side of warm hospitality, Taqueria Las Brasitas in Mexico Beach, Florida, is the spot to check out. Tucked along 2604 US-98, this cozy taqueria serves up some of the freshest, most mouthwatering tacos you'll find anywhere on the Gulf Coast. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, it’s a must-visit for anyone craving a satisfying, flavorful meal.

Walking into Taqueria Las Brasitas, you’re immediately struck by the vibrant, welcoming atmosphere. It’s a small, unassuming spot with a few tables inside and a friendly team eager to make you feel at home. The smell of sizzling meats and fresh tortillas fills the air, setting the stage for a memorable dining experience. The decor is simple but full of charm, with a focus on clean, bright colors and authentic Mexican elements.

When it comes to the menu, there’s no shortage of options that will have your taste buds dancing. Of course, the tacos are the star of the show here, and for good reason. Each taco is made with care, using only the freshest ingredients. The tacos al pastor are a crowd favorite, featuring tender pork marinated in a mix of spices and pineapple, grilled to perfection, and topped with fresh cilantro and onions. Another popular choice is the carne asada taco, where the perfectly grilled steak is paired with a tangy salsa verde and a sprinkle of crumbled cheese.

The menu doesn’t stop there-there’s also a fantastic selection of burritos, quesadillas, and tortas. The burritos are generously filled with your choice of protein, rice, beans, and veggies, making them a great option for a hearty meal. The quesadillas are ooey-gooey perfection, with a crispy exterior and melted cheese that pulls apart in the most satisfying way. And if you’re craving something a bit more substantial, the tortas are a great option, loaded with your choice of meats and toppings, all tucked into a soft, pillowy bun.

What really sets Taqueria Las Brasitas apart, though, is the attention to detail. The staff takes pride in crafting each dish from scratch, using family recipes passed down through generations. You can taste the care in every bite, whether it’s the smoky char of the grilled meats or the perfect balance of heat and flavor in the salsas.

For those who are looking for a little variety, there’s also an impressive selection of sides. The Mexican street corn, or elote, is a must-try. The sweet, smoky corn is slathered with a creamy mayo-based sauce, sprinkled with chili powder, and topped with crumbled cotija cheese. It’s the perfect accompaniment to any of the tacos or burritos, adding a pop of flavor and texture to your meal.

If you’re dining with a group, sharing a platter of the Mexican street fries is always a good idea. These crispy fries are piled high with carne asada, melted cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and salsa, making them a delicious and satisfying appetizer. Plus, the portions are more than generous, so it’s easy to get your fill without breaking the bank.

One thing that really stands out about Taqueria Las Brasitas is the warmth of the service. The staff here is genuinely friendly and eager to make your dining experience enjoyable. They’re happy to offer recommendations, explain the different menu items, or just chat about the best spots around Mexico Beach. It’s clear that they care about their customers, and that personal touch really elevates the experience.

For those curious about pricing, Taqueria Las Brasitas offers great value for the quality of food you’re getting. Most menu items are reasonably priced, and given the generous portions, you’ll find that it’s well worth every penny. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick lunch or planning a longer, more leisurely meal, you’ll leave satisfied without breaking the bank.

If you're looking for a place to enjoy delicious Mexican food in a casual, friendly atmosphere, Taqueria Las Brasitas in Mexico Beach is the place to be. • THE BEST tacos I’ve ever had in my entire life. I’ve lived in Texas less than an hour from Mexico, Georgia, Florida, and North Carolina and have tried almost every Mexican restaurant I’ve come across. Nothing compares to how good these tacos were. We tried the Birra and Volcanes, both were extremely tender and flavorful. The guacamole sauce had the perfect amount of heat and was great on the birria. The red sauce is more about flavor and less spicy than the guac, so I recommend that one if you’re sensitive to heat. This was our first day on our vacation to Mexico beach, and we’ll probably be back for lunch everyday for the rest of our stay. Do not pass this place up! Things to know: They are CASH ONLY. No cards. They have picnic tables with umbrellas for shade. There’s parking right beside them. There was also another food truck beside them that had shaved ice for a quick dessert after.

  • We tried the Volcanes, Quesabirria, and the Compenhanos. Get the Volcanes - OUT OF THIS WORLD good. Flavors are 'off the chain'; you get hit with spices, succulent flavors, and overall delicious food. Don't be afraid of the grilled onions, wife said, "best onions I've ever eaten in my life". These guys know what they are doing.

  • Had the Al pastor, carne asada, and campechanos tacos. They were all great but the campechanos was my favorite with the salsa verde. Super nice people running it. Cash only!

  • I live local and eat local. Taqueria Las Brasitas is authentic Mexican street tocos. I eat here at least twice a week.

  • Convenient spot by the beach and no line, so we checked it out. Tacos were delicious and not expensive. Would recommend to visit if you’re staying in the area. It’s cash only so be prepared with cash. It’s located just off the street by bike and recreational rentals, in a food truck.

  • Exactly what I hoped it would be - really good authentic street tacos! I had a mix of different kinds, the al pastor was the favorite - as a street taco, it comes with onions and cilantro, but then they added diced pineapples which made it even better! Beware, the side of guacamole is not your typical chunky guac, it's more of an avocado/tomatillo salsa with a kick...really good though! Even though it's a tiny food truck, they have picnic tables with umbrellas to sit at.

  • Some of the best Birria tacos I’ve ever had!! Also tried the chorizo and they were the perfect amount of spicy. They are cash only and prices extremely decent for the amount of food! Highly recommend!

  • The tacos are worth a special stop. They are very very good. Get the corn tortillas with the side of guac. Carne asada, carnitas, chicken. All are good.
